Round 12 of the AFL Premiership season has been run and won, and as Josh Partridge writes, it was another busy one for our Tasmanian contingent.

Port Adelaide vs Richmond – Adelaide Oval, Friday 08/06/18

Jack Riewoldt – Richmond #8

TSL Club Represented: Clarence

Riewoldt kicked three goals and was one of Richmond’s best players as the Tigers fell to Port Adelaide in their third loss for 2018. Riewoldt’s goals were accompanied by 11 disposals, five marks and four tackles. Once again, it is efficiency that is plaguing Jack’s game, going at only 54%, but he is doing his job for the Tigers by sitting fifth in the Coleman Medal race. AFL Fantasy Points: 81

Toby Nankervis – Richmond #25

TSL Club Represented: North Launceston

Nank struggled in his match-up with Paddy Ryder, going down in the hit-out count 41-27. Like Riewoldt, Nankervis had 11 disposals at a low efficiency rate (36%). Nankervis should be able to bounce back next week, facing Geelong’s combination of Rhys Stanley, and Wylie Buzza. AFL Fantasy Points: 60

Geelong vs North Melbourne – GMHBA Stadium, Saturday 09/06/18

Jake Kolodjashnij – Geelong #8

TSL Club Represented: Launceston

This is the game we’ve been waiting for from Kolodjashnij. As a key member of Geelong’s backline, which is one of, if not, the best in the league, Jake had 16 disposals at 75% and was prolific overhead with nine marks and nine intercept possessions. Kolodjashnij had four rebound 50’s, setting up Geelong’s trademark run and carry through the midfield. AFL Fantasy Points: 76

Ben Brown – North Melbourne #50

TSL Club Represented: Devonport/ Glenorchy

Despite still leading the Coleman Medal, Brown was kept scoreless for the second time this year in the Kangaroos’ loss in Geelong. Covered all day by roving big man Mark Blicavs, Brown was unable to impact the game as he desired, with Blicavs matching him contest after contest. Brown finished with 11 disposals with two marks for the day. AFL Fantasy Points: 39

Greater Western Sydney vs Gold Coast – Spotless Stadium, Saturday 09/06/18

Lachie Weller – Gold Coast #14

Originally From: Burnie Dockers

It was a record breaking night for the Suns for all the wrong reasons – failing to record a mark inside their forward 50. Lachie Weller was unable to spark the form he has been in of late in the 108-point loss, but toiled hard throughout and performed respectably. The younger Weller brother had 13 touches at 77% efficiency, took three marks and had three inside 50’s, creating chances on a night where they were few and fair between. AFL Fantasy Points: 48

St Kilda vs Sydney – Etihad Stadium, Saturday 09/06/18

Jimmy Webster continued his impressive 2018 campaign. IC: AFL Photos

Jimmy Webster – St Kilda #29

TSL Club Represented: Glenorchy

St Kilda’s best player on the ground in a very forgettable night for the club. Webster has truly been a revelation for the Saints this year and if it wasn’t for him, things could be a whole lot worse. Webster had 24 disposals at 79%, including nine intercept possessions and five marks. He was able to both rebound the defensive 50 and enter the forward 50 for his side and has been rewarded for his efforts with the footballing public starting to take notice of his form. AFL Fantasy Points: 93

Maverick Weller – St Kilda #44

TSL Club Represented: Burnie Dockers

A quiet but efficient night for Mav, with 100% of his nine disposals finding a St Kilda target, with this efficiency helped by eight handballs. Weller had one kick for the night, a goal, while taking two marks and making three inside 50s. With the Saints out of form, it will be interesting to see whether Mav is able to secure his spot in the side after spending time on the outer earlier in the year. AFL Fantasy Points: 28

Brisbane vs Essendon – Gabba, Sunday 10/06/18

Tom Bellchambers – Essendon #2

TSL Club Represented: Launceston/North Launceston

Another quiet week on the disposal front for Bellchambers, the former Launceston ruckman toiled hard in the ruck against the combination of Stefan Martin and Oscar McInerney, finishing with eight touches. Bellchambers had 21 hit outs and laid two tackles around the ground to help the Bombers secure a 22-point win over the Lions.  AFL Fantasy Points: 48

Josh Green – Essendon #15

TSL Club Represented: Clarence

Josh Green returned against his former side. IC: AFL Photos

In his first game back since suffering an ankle injury in round five, Green put in a solid performance that Essendon fans have become accustomed to. Lining up against his own side, Green had 12 disposals at 75% and kicked a goal to help the Bombers get over the line. Green’s pressure was something missed over the past few weeks by Essendon with the small forward committing 21 pressure acts during his 97 minutes on the ground. AFL Fantasy Points: 45

Fremantle vs Adelaide – Optus Stadium, Sunday 10/06/18

Alex Pearce – Fremantle #25

TSL Club Represented: Devonport

This game proved that Alex Pearce is one of the toughest players in the AFL. Playing at least half the game with a broken thumb, Pearce had 17 disposals, five marks and three tackles in his courageous effort. Constantly finding space, Pearce had 14 uncontested possessions and 4 intercepts in a performance which landed him in the best players. Unfortunately, this will be the last we will see of Pearce for several weeks with the broken thumb set to keep him sidelined. AFL Fantasy Points: 73

Hugh Greenwood – Adelaide #1

TSL Club Represented: Lauderdale

Hugh Greenwood’s performance in Adelaide’s loss to the Dockers was solid, but quiet when compared to the lofty standards he has set in 2018. Greenwood amassed 14 disposals, 12 of which were contested, at an efficiency of 79%, while also kicking a goal and laying four tackles. Greenwood’s reputation as a brute was confirmed throughout by consistently getting the hard ball. AFL Fantasy Points: 50

Brody Mihocek has made an impressive start to his AFL career. IC AFL Photos

Melbourne vs Collingwood – MCG, Monday 11/06/18

Jeremy Howe – Collingwood #38

TSL Club Represented: Hobart

Jeremy Howe is an elite AFL player and continues to raise the level of the Pies’ performance by holding up the backline across half back. 17 disposals at 71% with nine intercept possessions, eight marks and four rebound 50’s told the story for Howe as the ‘Pies dominated the Demons on the big stage. AFL Fantasy Points: 90

Brody Mihocek – Collingwood #41

TSL Club Represented: Burnie Dockers

Mihocek backed up his impressive debut performance with a solid showing for the ‘Pies with nine disposals at 56%, five marks and 1.1 in their big win. He also consistently created chances for the Pies with four inside 50’s driving the ball forward to targets like Mason Cox and Jordan de Goey. This should be enough for Mihocek to retain his spot after the bye. AFL Fantasy Points: 39
