Round 19 of the AFL Premiership season saw Hugh Greenwood and Jesse Lonergan star in losses and Jack Riewoldt again stand tall on the big MCG stage, writes Josh Partridge.

Essendon vs Sydney – Etihad Stadium, Friday 27/07/18

Tom Bellchambers – Essendon #2

TSL Club Represented: Launceston/North Launceston

Tom Bellchambers went head to head with arguably one of the more in-form ruckmen in the competition, Callum Sinclair on Friday night and although he just lost the battle, he won the war with the Bombers getting the win over Sydney. Bellchambers amassed 34 hit-outs, one less than Sinclair and had 11 disposals but at a low 27% efficiency. AFL Fantasy Points: 77

Robbie Fox – Sydney #42

TSL Club Represented: Burnie Dockers

Robbie once again turned into the flying fox with an incredible mark that gained him another Mark of the Week nomination. Kicking a behind off the back of the flying grab, Fox collected 12 disposals at 75% efficiency in the Swans’ loss and played predominantly in the defence after taking the hanger. Marking seemed to be the key statistic for Fox this week, collecting six as well as two rebound 50’s in defence. AFL Fantasy Points: 58

Richmond vs Collingwood – MCG, Saturday 28/07/18

IC: AFL Photos

Jack Riewoldt – Richmond #8

TSL Club Represented: Clarence

With the exception of Tom Hawkins, Jack is possibly the most in-form power forward of the competition. Currently sitting equal fourth in the Coleman Medal, alongside Lance Franklin, Riewoldt kicked 3.2 for the Tigers and collected 16 disposals in and around the forward 50. Involved in 11 scoring plays and taking seven marks, Jack is on fire now in a special group of players. AFL Fantasy Points: 81

Toby Nankervis – Richmond #25

TSL Club Represented: North Launceston

Saturday was a strange day for Nank as he spent a large period on the pine for an undisclosed reason, which put back-up ruckman Shaun Grigg into the Brodie Grundy firing line. Nank picked up 24 hit-outs, half of Grundy’s amount, as well as 19 disposals around the ground for his side to play his standard role in the Tigers’ victory. AFL Fantasy Points: 94

Jeremy Howe  – Collingwood #38

TSL Club Represented: Hobart

Saturday was tough day for the Tasmanian contingent of Magpies. Howe was ruled out of the match following an incident in the first quarter. Being held and pushed forward by Jacob Townsend, Howe was propelled into the direction of teammate Darcy Moore’s knee, which contacted Howe’s head and ruled him out. Set to miss this week, Howe had four disposals and two marks prior to the injury. AFL Fantasy Points: 17

Brody Mihocek – Collingwood #41

TSL Club Represented: Burnie Dockers

Brody Mihocek was another Magpie impacted by injury on Saturday, with a knock to the ankle in the second half affecting his abilities in the contests. Add to that, a strapped, bloodied head, Mihocek showed true grit to play out the game and should be right to face up against Sydney this week. Brody collected eight disposals and a goal in the 28-point loss. AFL Fantasy Points: 39

Geelong vs Brisbane – GHMBA Stadium, Saturday 28/07/18

Jake Kolodjashnij – Geelong #8

TSL Club Represented: Launceston

Another trademark game for Jake Kolodjashnij that Cats fans have grown accustomed to against the Lions. Jake had 11 disposals at an efficiency of 73% in the back half of the ground. Taking five uncontested marks and consistently finding space for the Cats, Jake can take one of the better forwards on and play his role for Geelong. AFL Fantasy Points: 55

Mitch Robinson – Brisbane #5

TSL Club Represented: Lauderdale

Robbo still hasn’t quite reached the heights of his performances since returning from injury, but Saturday’s game could be considered as a baby step towards his best. Mitch collected 17 disposals at a low efficiency of 59% and kicked 1.1 in the seven-goal loss. Robinson’s tackling prowess was on show with eight tackles as he earned his place in the best players for Brisbane once again. AFL Fantasy Points: 84

Greater Western Sydney vs St Kilda – Spotless Stadium, Saturday 28/07/18

Maverick Weller – St Kilda #44

TSL Club Represented: Burnie Dockers

It was a frustrating night for Mav Weller and his Saints on Saturday night, with an opportunity there to knock off one of the competition’s in-form sides. Mav collected nine disposals around the ground for St Kilda at an efficiency of 78%, while also laying eight tackles and having two inside 50’s in a match where the Saints won the inside 50 count despite losing the match by 25 points. AFL Fantasy Points: 36

Gold Coast vs Carlton – Metricon Stadium, Saturday 28/07/18

Jesse Lonergan – Gold Coast #7

TSL Club Represented: Launceston

The pure ball-winning ability of Jesse Lonergan that we’ve seen glimpses of throughout his interrupted AFL career was on show on Saturday night with the Launceston product collecting 22 disposals (including 15 contested) in the midfield at an efficiency of 54%. Seven clearances and nine tackles earned Lonergan a position in Gold Coast’s best players in this re-emergence of sorts. AFL Fantasy Points: 92

Kade Kolodjashnij  – Gold Coast #10

TSL Club Represented: Launceston

Kade’s marking prowess is something the Suns players and supporter base have missed and his five marks on Saturday night showed just how strong the big defender is overhead. Kolodjashnij collected 10 disposals at an efficiency of 70%, including seven intercept possessions for the Suns in their surprising 35-point loss to the Blues. AFL Fantasy Points: 43

Lachie Weller – Gold Coast #14

Originally From: Burnie Dockers

Fresh of the back of an almost career best game last weekend, Weller backed it up with yet another 20 disposal game for the Suns. Lachie took a leaf out of his older brother’s book with ferocious tackling pressure – underlined by seven tackles – while also creating opportunities with four inside 50s in what was otherwise a dull game for the Suns. AFL Fantasy Points: 80

Adelaide vs Melbourne – Adelaide Oval, Saturday 28/07/18

IC: AFL Photos

Hugh Greenwood – Adelaide #1

TSL Club Represented: Lauderdale

Disposal efficiency was the only thing that let Greenwood down on Saturday night, with the Adelaide star putting in a fantastic effort all around. Collecting 21 disposals at 48%, including 15 contested possessions, the big man relished his new role up forward kicking 2.1 and being involved in eight scoring plays. On top of this he laid a massive nine tackles and had five clearances at stoppages. AFL Fantasy Points: 109 – Season High

North Melbourne vs West Coast – Blundstone Arena, Sunday 29/07/18

Ben Brown – North Melbourne #50

TSL Club Represented: Devonport/ Glenorchy

Brown was kept quiet in his return to Blundstone Arena on Sunday afternoon with only the nine disposals and kicking 1.1 in North’s easy win over a depleted West Coast unit. Brown played 100% game time for the Roos as they look to burst into the eight in the next couple of weeks. Look for Brown to extend his lead in the Coleman if the Roos are to make a serious finals push. AFL Fantasy Points: 35

Fremantle vs Hawthorn – Optus Stadium, Sunday 29/07/18

Alex Pearce  – Fremantle #25

TSL Club Represented: Devonport

Pearce collected eight disposals at 62% efficiency for the Dockers in the last game of round 19. Going down to the Hawks by 59 points, Freo and Pearce couldn’t contain the likes of Luke Breust and Tom Mitchell. In trademark Pearce style, he grabbed four intercept possessions and two rebound 50’s as a calm way of exiting the defensive 50 for the Dockers. AFL Fantasy Points: 21
