The Coast’s Emma Humphries and Ellyse Gamble have made the final Western Bulldogs team for next week’s women’s all-stars exhibition match.
The Wynyard duo, who play for the Burnie Dockers in the Tasmanian Women’s League, will both again don the Western Bulldogs jumper when the Dogs face Melbourne at Whitten Oval on Saturday, September 3.
“I’m feeling extremely happy and overwhelmed,” Gamble said on Tuesday.
“I never thought I would make the final selection.
“To have received this opportunity once was amazing but to get this opportunity twice, what can I say I’m absolutely stoked.
“I’m very nervous already about playing live on Channel Seven and can’t wait to get over there”
The match will be broadcast on Channel Seven and is an important chance to impress recruiters ahead of the upcoming draft for the inaugural national competition.
Key-forward Gamble made her debut earlier this season against Western Australia, while midfielder Humphries first represented the Dogs last year.
They both played against WA in June.
The AFL also confirmed that Paul Groves will coach the Bulldogs, with Michelle Cowan returning to lead Melbourne for the match.
