Two of the AFL’s biggest stars will visit Burnie next week to throw their support behind a Coastal family doing it tough.
Essendon great Dustin Fletcher and Sydney Swans champion Michael O’Loughlin will visit the Coast next Friday to speak at ‘A Night for Tyson’ an event held for the family of Tyson Templeton.
Templeton, 8, has recently been diagnosed with Leukaemia and is currently undergoing treatment in Melbourne with his parents Danny and Linda.
Friends of the family have organised the event to be held at the Butter Factory next Friday night to raise funds for the family going through a difficult time.
Organiser Nathan Hunt said he worked with Tyson’s father at Toll Shipping and everyone in the community was keen to help out.
“Everyone here at work has a history of rallying behind each other when things aren’t going too good,” Hunt said. I’m down as a contact but it’s really everyone here at Toll who has banded together for the family who are going through a horrible situation.
“It’s awesome that they can come down here and hopefully not only will it attract people to the event for Tyson but some Sydney and Essendon fans as well.
A Night for Tyson will run from 7-11pm at the Butter Factory next Friday, November 25.
Tickets are $50 and include supper with no door sales available.
