Tasmania’s strong performances throughout the under-16 NAB AFL National Championships have been recognised with three players and a coach selected in the 2018 All Australian side. 

The 23-player All-Australian side consists of players from both division one and two teams, with those selected considered the best performers across the under-16 National Championships.

North Hobart defender Samuel Collins, North Launceston forward Jackson Callow and Clarence midfielder Oliver Davis were all selected in the team, while coach Nathan Warren was named Assistant Coach to South Australia’s Julian Farkas. 

Tasmania finished the Division 2 National Championships in first place – ahead of NSW/ACT and Queensland on percentage – after winning two games from three matches.

Composed medium defender who is an exceptional intercept mark and neat user of the ball by hand and foot. Averaged 18.3 disposals, seven marks and 6.3 rebound 50s won Tasmania’s MVP award in the Division Two Championship winning team as co-captain.

Jackson Callow (Tasmania/North Launceston) – Forward

Tall forward with a vice like grip overhead and was a key target for Tasmania in the Championships with an average of 8.7 marks and 3.3 goals from his 12.7 disposals.

Oliver Davis (Tasmania/Clarence) – Interchange 

DOB:     18/07/2002

Prolific ball winning medium midfielder who has also represented Tasmania in soccer. Very good stoppage player with a burst of speed and strong tackler.  Averaged 20.7 disposals (12 contested) 6.7 clearances and six tackles for the Championships.
