The AFL has today announced the 2019 JLT Community Series fixture, with Tasmania set to host a blockbuster clash between Hawthorn and Richmond under lights at UTAS Stadium.

The Hawks and Tigers will meet on Saturday March 9 at 7:10pm, with fans set to see two of the 2018’s top four sides in action.

The Hawks and Tigers met in the 2018 finals series after finishing in the top four, with the Tigers running out 31-point winners.

This match will possess an added level of intrigue, with the 2019 JLT Community Series set to see the roll out of the recently announced AFL rule changes.

Further to this is the promise of a new season with fresh faces, with both Hawthorn and Richmond playing major roles in the 2018 AFL Trade Period, with footy fans hoping to see the likes of superstars Chad Wingard, Tom Scully and Tom Lynch in their new club colours.

This will be the first time Richmond has played in Tasmania since 2016 and the first time since the 2013 pre-season in Launceston.
