AFL Tasmania invites stakeholders at all levels of the game to participate in the recently launched Football Futures Project, which sets out to develop a long-term vision for local football across the state.
The Tasmanian football community can provide feedback through a survey and a series of in-person and virtual town hall meetings, which will help to establish a collective purpose and vision for the game.
Head of AFL Tasmania, Damian Gill, said: “Across the state, there are 13 leagues, 129 clubs and 58 Auskick centres. Football reaches further into the Tasmanian community than any other sport. It is everyone’s game, and every Tasmanian who cares about Australian football has a role to play in shaping its future.
“That’s why it’s important for everyone who wants to have a voice in this process to take the opportunity to participate, so views and sentiment from right across the game can be captured.
“Football has been a huge part of Tasmania for generations, and we want it to be just as big, if not bigger, for future generations.”
AFL Tasmania is leading the project with support from an independent consultant, ColganBauer. The work will enable an array of stakeholders to have input into what is in the best interests of the local game long-term. This process will take place while the Colin Carter-led review into the AFL license submission is ongoing.
The survey covers a range of key topics in Tasmanian football and AFL Tasmania encourages all invested football people to complete it.
Click here to access and complete the survey. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and must be submitted by 5pm on 20 July 2021.
