The Premier earlier this afternoon provided an update on new requirements relating to any person that has been in Victoria on or since Thursday July 8, 2021.

From midnight tonight anyone that has been in Melbourne on or since July 8 is required to wear face-masks in a public place and avoid large public gatherings until midnight Tuesday 20/07/2021 when it will be reviewed again by Public Health.

AFL Tasmania has sought further clarity from Public Health and these restrictions mean any player or person that has been in Victoria on or since July 8, 2021 will be unable to attend football or participate in football over the next five days. They are unable to play or attend because they can’t social distance or wear a mask while playing football and football crowds are deemed large public gatherings. For the avoidance of any doubt this includes anyone that played or was in Victoria at any time on or since July 8, 2021.

This is obviously out of anyone’s control but we acutely understand the inconvenience and frustration it may provide ahead of games across the weekend. We really appreciate your support in working through these difficult circumstances.
