Player of the Week: Baker Smith, Northern Bullants

Just a handful of games into his VFL career, Baker Smith is quickly settling in and making a big impact. He set new season-highs across the board in the Northern Bullants’ loss to Port Melbourne, collecting 21 disposals, nine marks and four tackles in a backline that was under fire throughout. While his team has struggled early in the season, losing their first three games, Smith has been a bright spot.

Player of the Week: Fraser Turner, East Fremantle

East Fremantle claimed their first win of the season over the weekend, and Fraser Turner was a key player in that result. He racked up big numbers in the midfield, finishing with 29 disposals, 11 marks and a goal to be named among his side’s best players. After an up and down two seasons with South Adelaide in the SANFL, Turner seems to have found a home with the Sharks and is set for a big year.

Player of the Week: Perri King, Williamstown

Playing her first game for Williamstown, former North Melbourne midfielder Perri King made an instant impact in a big win over Darebin. She brought her trademark hard edge around the contest, laying a team-high nine tackles to go with 13 disposals in a solid first outing. At just 19 years of age, King still has plenty of growth in her game, and she will have the chance to develop with the Seagulls this season.
